Last night for training members traveled to Cetronia Ambulance to review some basic equipment operations and to complete our practical session to carry Naloxone (Narcan).
First Cetronia Ambulance Director of Operations, Chris Peischl, presented the hands-on portion of our Narcan training. With the rising heroin epidemic, this allows us to opportunity to reverse the affects, before the ambulance arrives.
Second everyone had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with operations of the litter, stair chair, and other miscellaneous equipment carried on the ambulance. When we respond on medical emergencies it is paramount to be able to work hand-in-hand with the paramedics.
Shortly before training began, crews responded to a cardiac arrest where CPR was initiated by Station 3.
